Avoid Futile Arguments!
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for the one who abandons futile arguments, even if he is in the right.”
Avoid debating with the following five types of people:
- The stubborn one.
• The arrogant denier of truth.
• The one who interferes in everything.
• The one who habitually opposes everything.
• The one who blindly follows others without thinking.
A golden rule for interacting with people in life:
Only engage in intellectual exchange with someone who possesses these five qualities:
- One of good character.
• One who has a sense of justice.
• One who seeks the truth.
• One who follows evidence.
• One who strives to know the truth.
Only then will the conversation be beneficial; otherwise, it will waste your time and peace of mind.
The Sweat You Shed Today will be the Light of Your Success Tomorrow.
Imam Al-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Whoever does not experience humility and hardship for even an hour to gain knowledge will have to taste the bitterness of ignorance for his entire lifetime.” Memorization may be difficult, reviewing lessons may become tedious, Lessons may feel burdensome.
But remember, all these are but temporary hardships. However, the fruit of knowledge will remain with you for your entire lifetime. So, strive with patience; the sweat you shed today will become the light of your success tomorrow.
The Culture of Accepting Allah’s Decrees
It means willingly accepting what Allah has decreed for you, finding contentment and peace in it, and firmly believing that whatever Allah has ordained for you, He has not ordained it without purpose. Therefore, it becomes necessary to praise Allah and thank Him for it. That is why Allah praises the patient ones and says:
“Who, when disaster strikes them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.’ ” (Al-Quran 2:156)
Sadqah
If you lend to Allah a good loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. For Allah is Most Appreciative, Most Forbearing. (Al-Quran)
