Man Knows Himself Best
There is a reality known only to you — the secret bond between you and your Lord. Therefore, do not be deceived by people’s praise, and do not let their criticism break your spirit.
Your true worth is not determined by how people see you. Rather, it lies within your heart and in the relationship between you and Allah.
Always keep in mind the words of Allah: بَلِ الْإِنسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ
“But man is a witness against himself.” (Surah Al-Qiyamah: 14)
Strive to make your private life better than the image you present to people.
Instead of focusing on appearing righteous before others, focus on being sincere and truthful before Allah. For whoever reforms their inner self, Allah will also improve their outward condition. And whoever is sincere with Allah will find that Allah alone is sufficient for all of their needs.
The Oldest Educational Institution
The oldest institution of higher learning in the world is Al-Qarawiyyin University. It also holds the remarkable distinction of being the first university in history founded by a woman.
It was established in 859 CE in the city of Fez, Morocco, by a Muslim woman named Fatima al-Fihri (Umm al-Banin). Her extraordinary contribution left an everlasting impact on the development of education and on the history of Islamic civilization.
Many renowned scholars were connected with Al-Qarawiyyin University, including:
- Ibn Rushd, the celebrated 12th-century philosopher.
- Pope Sylvester II of the 10th century, who is believed to have introduced Arabic numerals to Europe after learning them through this institution.
- Musa ibn Maimun (Maimonides), the Jewish philosopher known for his influential writings on Jewish law and ethics.
- Ibn Khaldun, widely regarded as the father of sociology.
- Over the centuries, Al-Qarawiyyin University has remained a beacon of knowledge, producing distinguished scholars who have enriched both Islamic civilization and the world at large.

No matter how difficult the trials a believer faces, his faith in Allah only grows stronger. This is because he firmly believes in the promise that with patience comes success, and after hardship comes ease.

Sadaqah is sufficient to attain Allah’s love and pleasure, shade on the day of Judgment, protection from the Hellfire, healing from illness, blessings (Barakah) in wealth, and many other benefits.
