Do Not Abandon Making Du’a (Supplication)

Al-Allamah Abdur-Rahman as-Sa’di (May Allah have mercy on him) said:

“How many religious or worldly needs have prompted you to plead more to Allah, to seek refuge in Him, and to rely completely upon Him! And how many prayers have been the means by which Allah has removed from you hardships and various harms! Therefore, the one who has been enabled to make abundant supplication should rejoice, for the acceptance of his prayer is near. Let the one who entrusts all his needs to his Lord and asks of Him be at peace and confident that they will be fulfilled through His grace and bounty.”

Allah Has Granted to Each Person the Blessings That Are Suitable for Him

Do not compare your life with anyone else’s life, for Allah has chosen for every individual the gifts that are appropriate for him. Be grateful for the state you are in right now. Train yourself to make contentment your natural disposition. Remember that the blessings you are enjoying may be the dreams and desires of someone else.

You sleep without pain, without painkillers; you breathe without the aid of any medical device; you are safe in your home; you eat without having to go asking anyone for help…

So fill your days with “Al-ḥamdulillah” (praise be to Allah) and gratitude. Then Allah’s blessings and provisions will increase upon you even more.

“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favour]” (Al-Qur’an – 14:7).

Sadaqa

The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three:

Ongoing charity, Beneficial knowledge, and a Righteous child who prays for him.”
