The Earth That Will Testify Against Us

Allah ﷻ says:      يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَاَ –  “That Day, it will report its news.” (Surah Az-Zalzalah: 4)

The Earth is one of the witnesses that will testify regarding the deeds of human beings. Therefore, we must be cautious. O servant of Allah! This very Earth you walk upon will testify against you regarding everything you have done in this world. If so, where is the escape from Allah’s inquiry and punishment?

O Allah! Grant us protection and peace through Your grace.

How Can I Reach Allah?

When reflecting on the lives of those who reached Allah, one thing becomes crystal clear: They lived in total submission to Allah’s commands.

  • Prophet Nuh (AS): When Allah commanded him to build an ark, he began the work immediately. He did not argue, asking, “My Lord! What will this ship do in the middle of a desert?”
  • Prophet Ibrahim (AS): When Allah commanded him to sacrifice his son, he stepped forward to fulfill the order without hesitation. He did not question, “What wisdom can there be in a father sacrificing his son?”
  • The Mother of Prophet Musa (AS): When Allah commanded her to throw her infant into the river, she did exactly that. She did not panic and ask, “Is there no other way less dangerous than this?”
  • Hajar (AS): When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) left her and her infant in a barren desert with only a few dates and a skin of water, she asked just one question: “Did Allah command you to do this?” When he replied “Yes,” she said: “Then go; Allah will never abandon us!”

The turning of time revealed the miracles: Allah brought a great flood specifically for that Ark. He provided a ram as a substitute for the boy who was to be sacrificed. He turned the river into a messenger, delivering the baby straight to Pharaoh—and it was by that same child’s hand that Pharaoh was eventually destroyed. He transformed that desolate desert into the holy land of Makkah, which became the Qibla for believers until the Day of Judgment.

If you wish to reach Almighty Allah, submit to His commands. Obey Him. Surrender yourself to what Allah loves.
