Core Themes of Islam
Al-Quran is a scripture that demonstrates the heights of perfection that humanity should attain. Muhammad (PBUH) is the finest, most elevated human being who practically implemented that perfection in his life and actions.
The Islamic faith (Aqeedah) is not merely a collection of doctrines; it is a way of life that cultivates a pure heart, free thought, human dignity, servitude to God alone, and universal humanitarianism.
Conscience and Purity of Heart:
Islam does not emphasize mere external rituals of worship. True God-consciousness (Taqwa) must be established in a pure heart. True acts of worship are born only from pure hearts.
The Importance of Knowledge:
Islam gives importance to thought, knowledge, and the investigation of truth. On this foundation, Muslims built a civilization encompassing various sciences, arts, and cultures. The Al-Quran encourages people to travel widely across the earth.
Human Freedom and Dignity:
Human beings should be servants of Allah alone. Through this, one attains liberation from the unjust dominance of other humans, such as rulers or religious authorities. One discovers dignity in one’s life.
The Universal Nature of Islam:
Although Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was an Arab, the Islam he brought is not exclusive to any single race or nation. It is a religion that calls human intellect and thought on a universal level.
Sadaqa
The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for him.”
